Costs
#BISA2023 is open to both members and non-members. The conference is competitively priced with up to 40% discount on the standard rate for our members. There are also significant discounts for early-career researchers and students.
Please note that conference rates do not include travel, accommodation and visas.
We operate the conference on a non-profit basis and seek out venues that are able to accommodate 500+ delegates in a professional academic environment while remaining competitively priced.
Three-day rates
The three-day rate includes:
- Access to all panels, roundtables and fringe events on 21-23 June inclusive
- Coffee break/refreshments on 21-23 June inclusive
- Lunch on 21-23 June inclusive
- Invitation to the AGM
- Invitation to the conference reception at Glasgow City Chambers.
BISA members
- Full member - £246
- Full member with early-career researcher discount - £170
- Student/retired/Global South scholars resident in the Global South member - £105
Standard rates
- Non-member - £360
- Non-member early-career researcher - £242
- Student/retired/Global South scholars resident in the Global South non-member - £175
We will issue a refund of the difference in price to anyone who becomes a BISA member within 7 working days of taking out the standard rate.

Your conference fee has already been paid within your membership fee.
One-day rates
One-day rates include:
- Coffee and refreshments
- Lunch
- Invitation to the conference reception only if your ticket is for Wednesday 21 June.
